Cassie and Tyler

Cassie and Tyler

Cassie and Tyler were sitting
on the porch for the last time
She’s leaving tomorrow so he’s trying to
say all the things that been on his mind

I know your mama and daddy
are moving out of state
And we’re only 13 so I can’t
ask you to stay
I know I should kiss you
But then I’d miss you
So let’s just play it safe
and stay here rocking
On this front porch talking
While stars light up the sky
making a memory to hold on to
so we won’t have to say good bye

Cassie and Tyler were walking by the
lake that southern summer night
She’s nervous bout leaving so he takes her
hand and tells her its gonna be alright

She says I wish we had
just one more day
But we’re only 13 so you
know I can’t stay
I know I should kiss you
But then I’d miss you
So let’s just play it safe
and stay here walking
By this lakeside talking
While stars light up the sky
making a memory to hold on to
so we don’t have to say good bye

Cassie and Tyler were standing on
the porch kissing for the first time
She’s leaving tomorrow so its bittersweet
like the taste of strawberry wine

He says I already miss you
So I just had to kiss you
What’s the use playing it safe
let’s just stay here wishing
On the front porch kissing
Underneath the starry sky
making a memory to hold on to
so we won’t have to say good bye
