Farmers Daughter

Farmers Daughter

I bet your mama told you about girls like me
But I’m just the kind that she would love to meet
I’m from a well rounded family
Both mommy and daddy
Tucked me and teddy in when they put us to sleep
Then I found out good girls finished last
And didn’t want to be a bad girl cuz they grow up too fast

But I still like the idea of being wild and free
And mama said balance is always the key
So I tried out for miss in between
And I’ve been winning every year since I was seventeen

I ain’t your typical farmers daughter
I jump head first into the muddy water
You won’t find me having brunch with no southern belles
I’d rather go to…….Dale’s
Bar and Grill on a Saturday night
Where I can start a fight
With the bartender
And still get him to ask me out to dinner

I’ve always been the girl that could hang with the boys
Cause I like my PBR and my guitar noise
Didn’t hang out at Dairy Queen
Got my license at sixteen
Too busy racing my curfew back from Ne Orleans
But I can cook for you and even bake
I thank god every time I eat sleep and when I wake

But I still like the idea of being wild and free
And mama said balance is always the key
So I’ve been looking for a man like you
With a southern gentleman style and a cowboy point of view

I ain’t your typical farmers daughter
I jump head first into the muddy water
You won’t find me having brunch with no southern belles
I’d rather go to…….Dale’s
Bar and Grill on a Saturday night
Where I can sing my songs under the spotlight
Cause I ain’t your typical farmers daughter
I jump head first into the muddy water
